Wellness Trends We Are Already Seeing in 2019

We are in a new year, and that means new trends have emerged whether we adapt or not. There are a number of trends that have already hit the scene in 2019 that you may or may not be aware of, but I will tell you four of them in this article. From teas, to workouts, to the way we dress, life is constantly changing around us. Let’s get talking about the trends that we will have our eye on this new year.

 “Athleisure”

This is so funny, yet very true at the same time. More often women are opting to wear yoga clothing (lycra, spandex, and luon) over the traditional pair of jeans. You don’t even have to be going to a workout to wear this style of clothing and it will be socially acceptable in 2019. Let’s face it, we are always looking for chic and casual clothing, so it does not come as a surprise to me that many big name designers are adding athletic lines to their collections of clothing.

Nut Milks are all the rage

Almond, hemp, pistachio, cashew, and walnut are all options for milk in today’s society. This new craze is just as hot as cold pressed juices were a few years back. Regular dairy has been getting a bad rap lately, which in turn has turned many people onto different nut milks. The health benefits such as more protein per serving, less sugar, and all natural have people openly accepting this new trend.

Matcha, Matcha, Matcha

Matcha is a Japanese green tea powder that is popular in coffee, and on top of regular foods throughout the menus of trendy restaurants. It should come as no surprise that we see a “Matcha” in our teas, coffees, and desserts worldwide and think nothing of it (even though this trend is rather new). Many different companies like Starbucks and Teavana have caught on that this trend is rising quickly, and therefore have created an “at home” Matcha option for consumers. Keep your eye out for this trend in 2019, and don’t be afraid to give it a try!

Fitness Celebrities Born on Instagram

Long gone are the days of strictly television stars, as we now have a new and improved way to achieve “celebrity status.” For example, Jen Selter, a fitness star on Instagram who has over 8.4 million followers to date. She is all the rage when it comes to getting your workout in, and looking good while doing it. While she does not even give good workout tips or nutrition advice, people flock to her page by the masses to see what posts she will share next. Another example is Kayla Itsines, who seeks to inspire women from all around the world to become the best versions of themselves they can be. She provides a blog with recipes, along with many different workout related posts to keep people coming back for more. Kayla has over 4 million followers to date, and I doubt that number will be dropping anytime soon! Hello 2019, where becoming an Instagram celebrity doesn’t seem that out of reach anymore!

No matter what the trend, they are always going to come and go. However, many of the trends in 2019 seem to be nutritious and playful which gives me hope for a healthy and uplifting year! There are more trends on the rise, so keep your eye out for them. Bring on the workouts, health food blogs, matcha mayhem, workout clothes, and nut milks!
